Privacy Policy

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Pakistan TV Android application (package name pk.pakistantv) and this support website, together called the “Services.” Pakistan TV is an independent channel discovery and media playback application operated by Taha Akber (“we,” “us,” or “our”). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the broadcasters displayed in the app unless expressly stated.

2. Information processed

Information stored locally

The app may store the following information only on your device:

• Favourite channel selections;
• Playlist URLs, names, and provider details that you choose to enter;
• Cached channel catalogue and stream verification status;
• Playback-related preferences and advertising frequency state.

We do not operate user accounts and do not receive these local preferences on a developer-controlled server. Clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app generally removes this locally stored information.

Information processed automatically

When the app connects to the internet, standard technical information such as your IP address, device/user-agent information, requested URL, date and time, and network response may be processed by the server you contact. This is necessary to download playlists, check stream availability, load channel artwork, and play content.

Information you send us

If you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your email address, message, app version, and troubleshooting details. Please do not send passwords, payment data, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.

3. How information is used

Information is processed as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide channel discovery, playlist loading, and video playback;
• Remember local preferences and favourites;
• Verify stream availability and refresh the additional channel catalogue;
• Display, measure, and protect advertising where advertising is enabled;
• Diagnose failures, prevent fraud or abuse, and maintain service security;
• Reply to support, privacy, and legal requests; and
• Comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms.

Depending on your location, processing may rely on performance of the service you request, legitimate interests such as security and troubleshooting, consent for personalized advertising where required, or compliance with law.

4. Advertising and Google AdMob

The public build of Pakistan TV uses Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC, to show interstitial advertisements at natural navigation intervals. Google Mobile Ads may automatically collect or share information including:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
• App interactions such as launches, taps, ad impressions, and video views;
• Diagnostic data such as performance, crash, or energy-usage information; and
• Device or account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID where available.

Google may use this information for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, and security. Data sent to Google Mobile Ads is encrypted in transit. Ad personalization and available consent choices depend on your region, device settings, age eligibility, and choices shown in the app.

You can reset or delete your Android advertising ID through your device settings. Where required, the app will request advertising consent before eligible ad requests and provide a privacy-options entry point. Learn more in Google’s Privacy Policy and review My Ad Center.

5. Streams, playlists, and other third parties

Pakistan TV is a directory and playback interface. It does not host, upload, or retransmit television streams on a developer-controlled server. The app connects directly to third-party playlist, artwork, video, and broadcaster endpoints, including endpoints supplied by you. Those operators receive network requests directly from your device and apply their own terms and privacy practices.

Default and additional catalogue information may be obtained from public playlist projects such as Free-TV and IPTV-org. Availability, ownership, legality, content, and privacy practices are controlled by the relevant third party and may change without notice. Inclusion does not imply ownership, partnership, or endorsement.

Embedded content or playback services, including YouTube where present, are governed by the provider’s own policies. Do not add a private provider playlist unless you are authorized to use it and understand how that provider handles data.

6. Retention and security

Local preferences remain on your device until you remove them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Support correspondence is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, keep appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Third parties determine their own retention periods.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the Services. Some user-supplied or catalogue streams may use unencrypted HTTP because that is the only protocol offered by the stream operator. Information sent through an HTTP stream connection is not protected by transport encryption. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a copy of personal information we control. You may also:

• Remove favourites and provider playlists within the app;
• Clear app data or uninstall the app to delete local information;
• Use Android privacy settings to reset or delete the advertising ID;
• Use the app’s privacy options, where available, to review advertising choices;
• Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence.

We may need to verify a request and may retain limited information where legally required. We cannot directly delete data controlled solely by Google, a stream provider, or another third party; please contact that provider separately.

8. Children’s privacy

Pakistan TV is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in their country). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Live channels are controlled by third parties and may contain material unsuitable for children; parents and guardians should supervise use. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

9. International processing

Google and stream providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Data-protection laws may differ in those locations. Those providers are responsible for the legal mechanisms applicable to their processing.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the app, third-party services, or applicable requirements. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or store listing when appropriate.
